I have always loved blogging, I have been blogging ever since I was in my teens. At that time blogging, was called having an “Online Journal” and at that time I would blog about more personal things, then as the years passed, I had a blogger blog and started to blog about my home business at the time, now I blog about business in general and make money blogging. See how much things have changed? Why am I telling you all of this? Well, because its my blog and I can LOL.
My point, really is with blogging now you can do so much, make money with adsense or affiliate programs etc…you have more control over your blog if you host it yourself though and I like that a lot.
I have been monetizing my blog, with bidvertiser and a couple of affiliate programs, plus I have began paid posting. My main focus right now is around my blog, I love my blog.
I think monetizing your blog is a good way to make part of an income online.

1I have about ten blogs, and only two of them are monetized. I have earned a steady income - mostly from AdSense, for a few years now. I’ll wait to monetize my other blogs until they welcome a strong steady stream of visitors daily (looking for at least 250/day). My income from other affiliate links is minimal though the occasional check is a welcome surprise. I confess I am not a fan of pay-per-post and won’t do it on any of my blogs. I’d rather read what people have to say about their topics from the bottom of their most sincere hearts. All the best to you in your blogging efforts.

2PayPerPost is good if you don’t mind being slapped and put in the sandbox by Google. Most bloggers handle paid reviews on their own now I’ve noticed. I recently saw a blog get completely banned from the Google search results for choosing to accept a $40 review. Be careful.

3I don’t do payperpost anymore… not worth the trouble with SEO, and I didn’t really like posting about random crap I probably would never care to write about anyway for $10.. that said, the easy moolah was great while I was doing it.
BTW — I tagged you!

4Linda - I blog about what is at the bottom of my heart, that is why I have a blog. I also have an opinion about various things….so that is why I do PayPerPost. I am expressing myself by doing my own thing.
Chris - Yes, I understand I can be penalized but if you read my new post, I also don’t care what Google thinks.
Thanks for the tag Kristina.
